FREE Masterclass: How To Create 60 Days of Social Media And Video Content In 8 Hours
Engagements and comments provide authentic social proof that indicates to Google and YouTube that your video is important. And also to new first time viewers that other users are interested in what you have to say. They generate healthy discussions and feedback that entices others to do the same. It’s a snowball effect!
There’s no doubt that capturing your users’ attention via YouTube is difficult. There’s so many cat videos and dancing people and David Dobrik clickbait (which to be honest I love). So it can be hard to get people’s attention for long enough to encourage them to comment.
But don’t worry, in this video, we’re going to be talking about three ways that you can get more comments and engagements for your YouTube videos.
If you want to learn more about crafting the best YouTube videos, you can also check out my YouTube video checklist. It gives you more information on what it takes to make it big in the industry with videos. At the same time, if you’re having trouble creating YouTube content, I can teach you how to produce 60 days of social media and video content in just under eight hours with my free masterclass.
Now here are the different ways to get more engagement and comments on YouTube.
Number one, end your videos with questions. Ask your users a question. These can be open-ended enough to get users to interact and speak freely. Think of it as creating a way for users to provide their user generated content. If you’re ever stuck, asking users what types of videos they want to see in the future almost always gets responses. This is a common strategy for popular YouTube creators. It also generates an endless stream of content ideas for the future.
Number two, manage your trolls. Internet trolls can be rude but sometimes entertaining depending on how you wish to look at them. I have another video on my channel about how to manage negativity on social media that shared how Wendy’s hilariously responded to their trolls on social media. Now I’m not encouraging you to get intimate with negative people on social media but what I am saying is try not to take it too seriously. Ignore it, laugh at it, but if you have problematic or threatening comments especially if they start to turn it against other engaged users, delete and block them.
Keep your channel positive and the discussion healthy. Don’t let the trolls drive away users that want to engage with you.
Number three, leave the first comment. This shows social proof from a personal level. It’s a strategy that really works for YouTube videos and makes it comfortable for users to engage with you. In short, break the ice. You can do this by posting comments under your own channel name or have someone else leave a comment.
YouTube comments are the secret sauce that you need to succeed in YouTube. They provide users with credibility that they seek from you and gives them a chance to interact with other viewers on your videos.
Take advantage of these benefits.
