As an entrepreneur my goal is to make an impact. Especially for other entrepreneurs so they can also make an impact.
We are always students no matter how high up the ladder we climb, but that doesn’t mean you need to make the same mistakes I did. I want to help you avoid some of them in today’s episodes.
When I sat down to write out some of these mistakes – I could’ve filled the whole notebook.
Heres a few:
I hired people that I paid too much, worked with clients that I just wanted approval from so badly, I went into huge debt from poor financial choices. I let other people guide my decisions rather than just trusting myself.
All of these boil down to one thing: These are all symptoms of needing to prove myself to others and find validation outside of myself. Don’t make this same mistake of looking outside rather than within.
The constant need for external approval, or to prove something to others – can be a pretty beneficial driving force when you’re first starting out… But it’s not sustainable. It’s emotionally unhealthy and it creates a business that isn’t YOURS. It’s everyone else’s that you were trying to get approval from.
So, are you letting external validation run your business?
