Whether you’re an entrepreneur, a soon-to-be entrepreneur, a student, or you work at a 9-5 – I’m sure you have things you want to change about your business or your life in general.
So many people wait for the right moment to make their goals happen, when they feel like they’ll have a clean slate to work from.
“Starting Monday, I’m going to eat healthy.”
“After my birthday, I’m going to sign up for that new course.”
This way, we have just a bit more time to soak in our old habits before we make that positive change that’s going to benefit us long-term.
So many of us go into it feeling super excited to try out this new way of living. If you’ve ever had a gym membership during the holiday season, you know what this is all about. All through January, all of a sudden, there are tons of people crowding the gym at any given time of day. Some people are probably going multiple times a day when just last week, they were enjoying Christmas time from their couch.
Then February comes and… the gym traffic dies right back down again.
The truth is, making a sudden, drastic change like that is much more difficult than making small changes over time.
Don’t wait the next month, or next Monday to make that change in your business – if you want to maximize your potential for impact and profit, the best time to start is the moment you have that realization that this is the right path forward.
If you’re planning to finally start that YouTube channel or launch that new service, make a step towards it today. Yes, the holidays are busy – but think of how accomplished you’ll feel when you reach New Year’s Eve knowing you’ve already made progress towards your goal?
Now that doesn’t mean you have to reinvent the wheel or completely change your life overnight, but take one small step and see where it takes you.
On your way to driving massive impact and profit through video, you’re going to encounter problems. You’re going to make mistakes and have to reevaluate, but that’s so much better than hitting a wall in that 3rd week of January, and regretting setting your expectations so high.
Think about your favorite entrepreneurs or influencers – how many of them achieved their goals and got to where they are today based on a single new year’s resolution?
… Yeah, that’s what I thought.
